Graham Nash joins Moseley Folk 2023 line-up as Very Special Guest

Legendary British singer-songwriter added to expanding festival bill.

1-3 September 2023, Moseley Park, Birmingham.

Graham Nash is the latest addition to the line-up of Moseley Folk and Arts Festival (Friday 1 to Sunday 3 September 2023).

Set to appear at the Birmingham festival as a ‘very special guest’ on Friday night, Nash is a two-times US Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee with a career stretching back over 60 years. Raised in Salford, he co-founded The Hollies in the early 1960s, scoring an impressive run of hits that included Stop Stop Stop, On A Carousel, Carrie Anne and King Midas In Reverse.

Leaving the band and moving to America in 1968, he teamed up with David Crosby (The Byrds) and Stephen Stills (Buffalo Springfield) for Crosby, Stills And Nash (CSN) – with Neil Young’s addition transforming them into CSN&Y. Among Nash’s many contributions to the groundbreaking ‘supergroup’ were Teach Your Children, Our House, and Marrakesh Express.

In parallel with CSN(&Y), Nash also launched his own solo career with 1971’s acclaimed Songs For Beginners (featuring Chicago/We Can Change The World and Military Madness). His latest solo album, entitled Now, is released in May 2023 and is described by the songwriter, activist and photographer as “…the most personal one I have ever made.”

Graham Nash joins the previously announced Squeeze, Blindboy and Gwenno (Friday); The Saw Doctors (Saturday); and Wilco and The Proclaimers (Sunday) – with more acts to be announced soon.

John Fell, Moseley Folk and Arts Festival Manager, said: “Graham Nash has had a huge influence on musicians, from the 1960s to present day. With CSN and his solo work especially, he pioneered an acoustic rock sound built on strong harmonies, and strong songs, which still sounds fresh today.

“We’re so pleased to have an artist of Graham’s stature with us for a rare festival performance.”

Tickets are now available priced £145 (adult, weekend), £57 (adult, day), £65 (U18, weekend), £32 (U18, day) and £320 (family) – plus booking fees.
